I was about to enter my apartment with a bag of groceries in hand when I was addressed by this young woman in tears. She said her father died and they needed two people to be present for some reason. He was our neighbour from across and he was a really annoying old man, but seeing his motionless body on the bed was heartwrenching especially since I saw him just yesterday and he seemed to be fine. What a lousy way to end the day.
