I talked to Azshannar and now it's perfectly clear that there will be no more subtitles for the Alice9 Channels. The only translator has gone to Japan and will have no more time for such things. Actually, now that she is gone he offered me to work with him instead. But clearly I don't have enough skills to do it and even if I had it would take all my time and it's a sacrifice I'm not willing to make.

But it's sad, really. When the fandom bloomed around 2008 and even in 2011 when I came around there were people who translated all the blog entries, all the tweets and the Alice9 Channels. Now there's only a bunch of people left but they only do bits and pieces. I used to think that they just got out of the fandom but maybe it's not even that. It's just that as soon as someone gets enough command of Japanese, they leave for Japan and those who stay aren't proficient enough to pick up. It's a damned circle. Good thing for the fandom that I'm stuck in this rotting country and won't be going anywhere any time soon.

Все, так или иначе, двигаются дальше. Может и не стоило переводить передачи целиком? В конце концов, там много пустой формальной болтовни. А вот небольшие, самые любопытные моменты может обрабатывать и та небольшая кучка людей, о которой ты пишешь, нэ?
