It was the best birth day since... forever. Today wasn't magnificent, but it was really nice. I just did some of the things I really wanted to and had a good time for once. It only confirms I'm going in the right direction. Got some really nice presents too. And it's the first time I've been congratulated by my half-brothers. The little one even drew me a card, the kid just learned to write. I dunno... it's so cute but so unexpected I kinda feel freaked out. But I guess I'll get used to it.

Now I'm making a HQ Revolution. So far I've got a nearly perfect PV collection of:

Gackt
L-Arc~en~Ciel
Malice Mizer
Hyde
Alice Nine
TVXQ/THSK

and some random artists. Mostly J-Rock. Currently I paused the PV search and moved on to concerts. Re-downloaded 3 concerts so far and counting. Including Hyde - Faith Live at Yokohama Arena which I had a half-DVD of for years and waited for the day when I will be able to get the other half. I had to re-download the whole thing, but whatever, it was worth it. Also I just came to know about L’Arc~en~Ciel's Twenity DVD which includes a footage from 1993 in good quality! White robes and beads and high pony-tails... It also includes Digest of 20 years. 5 GB was totally worth it. I realized I haven't seen the latest tour DVD. There was only a 5-minute preview, but Oh.my.god.can.this.man.get any.more.gorgeous? 2-minute preview of Hoshizora got me into trance. It seriously looks like he's getting more beautiful with years. I can totally see why he yet again made to #1 on that survey: "who would you like have as a boyfriend?" And finally it's the video quality he deserves.



Totaly downloading it, but not until next month, the torrent is 11 GB and I'm low on traffic already.

Beethoven Virus

I've been looking at it for months and finally decided to give it a try. I came to know of it because of GeunSuk, but didn't want to watch he didn't look that good in it. That goatee is hideous. But the dorama is not bad at all, better than I expected. It's sentimental and over-dramatic like all Korean dramas, but it's quite interesting. And the classical music is a nice change. I actually began to have interest in classics only a few years ago. I think you have to grow up to it.

Also Big Bang did a parody for it too (is there a drama they haven't parodied yet, seriously?)

The obligatory Eurovision Post

In two words: it was not bad. I only watch the final part so I can only judge those who made it today. The first half was quite boring, but in the end I liked at least half of performers which is good enough. I try not to expect much since my favourites never make it anywhere near the top. I decided I will be satisfied with anything providing those freak twins don't win. Ew. But I actually liked the 1st and 2nd places so I'm satisfied.

Lithuania and France had great vocals, but I knew songs like that never make it. Georgia seemed to have what it takes, but alas. UK seemed really desperate sending Blue, but at least they got about 100 points and didn't look pathetic like they usually do. There were some performances that weren't amazing, but nice. Like Estonia and Serbia (pretty average song, but it was fun and refreshing) Italy also wasn't great, but the perf. had a really good feeling to it. Switzerland was nice too.

As for out perf., I didn't really like it, but it was decent and it's still nice we placed 4th. I really liked Germany's perf. Lena has grown so much since last year, as a woman and as a singer. Anyway, to make it short my favourites were Germany, Slovenia and Austria.

The tendency I don't like is that each year less and less people (at least the finalists) sing in their own language. This year there were only 4 or 5. I think it's kind of boring. The good thing this year is that there was no sorry losers with 4 points.

I finally found the courage to do this. Delete all the redundant numbers from my mobile. Old friends I haven't seen for years, people I was close to not long ago but clearly never will be again and names whose owners I can't remember for the life of me. There were 26, now there are 16. I deleted 11, but for the first time since I got my phone I added my father to my contacts list. There.

I never even noticed what language people are speaking in your dreams, but I'm sure as hell they never spoke Japanese before. But today it was Gackt who leaned in and spoke in my ear in that low sexy voice. Probably too much Gackt!twitter. It was just one phrase and I'm almost sure it meant something but I couldn't understand or remember it even in my dream, let alone upon waking up. Such a shame.

From someone on jyj3 on the upcoming Beijing concert and Chinese fandom:

JJ’s personal fans(花粉 ) and Yunho’s (浩饭 ) are very against Yunjae.
The only thing that OT5 care is the Red Ocean (which is kinda impossible tonight because JJ’s fans are doing the best they can to create Green Ocean, JS’s fans wanna create the biggest Xiah Sea ever because they dun want JS to think he is least popular, YC’s fans wanna create the mickey ocean, but u can expect Red Lakes coz Cassies are going) their baidu bars have put out notices that fans who ordered tickets at their bars are forbidden to raise any lightsticks/lightplates that are not green, xiah, or micky. NOT EVEN red lightsticks. there was a huge fight btw cassies and personal fans of the boys so that a pure Red Ocean can be created during group songs and green ocean etc during solos, but that didnt work. so ot5 and personal fans will just raise anything they like. Same goes to Yunjae fans who are creating Yunjae sea by raising “yunjae in hangul red LED lightplates”. And it’s true some wanna to shout sth inappropriate tonight, but a lot of YJ fans have expressed that it’s highly inappropriate to behave as such. so far, the announcement put out on YJ baidu bar only mentions they are doing the Yunjae red sea.

That's all I can say.

On May 3rd 2011, Kawamura Ryuichi was finally able to challenge his Guinness Book World Record try to sing 100 songs in about 6.5 hours at Nippon Budokan.

With the happenings succeeding the Tohoku Earthquake Kawamura had to postpone his performance "KAWAMURA RYUICHI at Nippon Budokan "Genkai no Sono Saki he" 100 no Monogatari ~Epilogue~", which had been originally scheduled for March 13th.

The live at Nippon Budonkan on May 3rd 2011 had started at 2:00pm and at 9:37pm he had reached the 100 songs, sung as a solo artists, which grants him the entry into the Guinness Book of World Records.
Performing straight for more than 6 hours and a half, he performed his debut single "I love you", amongst others like "BEAT", "Love is..." and "Glass".

In total, Kawamura presented 104 songs during that night and received his entry certificate on stage after the performance.

The Japanese are crazy. But you have to admire them.

Why of all J-Rock I fall for some of the most obscure bands ever? And they're not even indie-but-might-turn-famous obscure, they're ancient-demo-tape-only obscure. First Vienna and now Pride Of Mind. Actually I'm surprised I was able to find most of their stuff anyway. Anyway Pride Of Mind is really interesting, a strange mix of J-Rock and Synth-pop. They're a bit like Japanese Depeche Mode.

Ever since High School I enjoyed seeing people's dumbfounded faces when I told them what band I listened to, but now it's uncalled for.
