Hiroto: To be honest I have extreme anxiety syndrome. Every year it was getting worse and every time before a concert it would be a storm of affirmations. [Vif Music -Special Feature- (GEMINI) 2011.01.20]
Not that was something I didn't expect to read at all. I mean Hiroto of all people... He always seems so bright and confident. I guess there's always more to it than meets the eye. But in a way I was glad to learn about it. If even people like him aren't immune to that shit what am I to feel bad about it?

— In the morning when you wake up, you find that you suddenly have turned into Shou-san. What will you do?
Saga: Without any hesitation, I’m going to pick up girls. [BARKS' Interview - Alice Nine [Daybreak] (March 26th 2013)]
WHY? Why do all the good-looking people want to look like other good-looking people? I know they were half-joking but this always happens. Even the most beautiful of people seem to feel lacking, unsatisfied. Even they often want to look like someone else.
READ (Something you've read recently)
Hiroto: I've been reading "What Is Consciousness?" by Mogi Kenichirou, the guy who's making researches on the human brain. It's interesting, so I want to buy and read more of this person's books.
Shou: He has a TV show on NHK.
Hiroto: It looks fastidious, but in genereal, it's intesting. Reading is great!
Saga: Lately I casually started reading a book that my mother has been reading. It's called "The Moment We Die". My mother is working as a nurse, so she often reads deep books about life and death. It was quite interesting.
Shou: I read "Deep Impact : The Impact's Trajectory", an historical book. It goes up to our grand-parent's era.
Tora: I haven't read a single novel since I was born. Actually, I don't read books. Maybe some shounen magazines. I dislike manga with too much text, so I would never read one like "Detective Conan". ...... well, does that make me kinda stupid? (laugh) [ARENA37C JULY 2007, "W-H-I-T-E-P-R-A-Y-E-R" KEYWORD INTERVIEW]
It doesn't somehow. Tora is the type of guy who is smart without being intellectual. He's wise and in life it's a lot more important. I used to really care about intellectual level and that kind of stuff but now I realized it's not as important as other things. With Tora it's not just about books though, also his taste in music and clothes. He challenged my perceptions in many ways. But the rest of them are such damn smartasses, can you not?
At first, I was introduced to Nao-san, and we were supposed to do the band together. But one day in the middle of the night, I got an unexpected phone call from him. He said “To be honest, there’s another band I would like to join more than this one”. I said “What!? Who are you doing it with?”, he told me that the bassist was Saga-kun. I wanted to be in a band with Tora so I thought “our band’s going to happen like this!”, and throughout the whole night, from 1am until 4:30am, I tried to persuade him. “You should join us”. [NEO GENESIS VOL.10 ]
So now that I look at it it seems clear that in the end the person who played the key role in creating the band is none other than Shou. Sure it was a process that everyone was a part of but it was him that reached out and brought the members together. The name is his as well.
Shou: No no, it’s my pleasure for the songs to get recognized as a metal song. What I meant is that I’m done hearing critics say Alice Nine can’t play Metal-Rock but they are trying to make it look like they can. I didn’t write this song for the sake of metal rock, but the melody came first and we needed the metal sound to fully bring the song to life. We're riding on a metal sound. [2013.04 Barks Shadowplay Interview]
That sad moment when you wish you could support the man you adore but have to agree with the critics instead.
Hmm... Just realized as a n afterthought that I took 5 quotes each focusing on one of the band member's words, excluding Nao. I just can't figure him out. I can't write him either. Like, at all. Nao is my challenge, I guess.
