I should post something intelligent once in a while. Even if it's just to comfort myself. But its especially topical in the view of current economical state.

While I was ill I finally found the mood to watch the 2nd film of the documentary called Zeitgeist.
They're a lot like Michael Moore's Farenheit 7/11, only with a broader subject matter and a very distinct purpose. I think it's one of those films that every person who considers him/herself intelligent and broad-minded should watch. Even if there are some apparent flaws in it and some facts don't add up at all you can't argue with the general idea. Besides the point is not to take the information for granted, but to make people think and come to their own conclusions. Basically it's about the way the world is today and the way it's going to become if nothing is done. Talking about world government. It's really scary how before your eyes the world turns into Orwell's '1984'. But the scariest thing of all is the fact that those kind of films exist and are available for everyone to view and yet it only makes you realise this is really happening and you're just one human, one intellectual unit and you can't do a fucking thing about it.

The second film was meant to give hope and show an alternative scenario. It intruduces Project Venus which is basically a scheme for development of humanity that includes every aspect. Apparently there are enough resources and food for everyone to live happily ever after. Only somehow it never happens.
It's easy so see the underlying New Age ideas. It all sounds pretty naive. Just the way it was in the '60's. Doesn't mean one shouldn't try though. Their plas is as simple as it is ambitious. This whole movement gained quite a momentum. There will even be a Zeitgeist day, on March 15. It should happen in hundreds of the world's biggest cities. Maybe I shold go too. But I really don't believe any of it will really happen. Just because it sounds too good to be true. People are stupid lazy greedy beings. There's no way we can live in peace and harmony. But trying won't hurt, will it?

Universal revolution (that's all)
And if we trust in our hearts
We'll find the solution's
To put it all down and start again
From the top to the bottom and then
I'll have faith, or I prefer
To think that things couldn't turn out worse
