I realized that both TVXQ and NEWS have been formed in 2003. Also while Alice Nine was born the next year I think Givuss was also formed in 2003. Good year.

NEWS has turned 10. TVXQ is turning 10 in December and Alice Nine to follow next year.

Tegomass no Mahou

I downloaded this concert to see the cheerleader!Yuuko. I got the documentary and the encore but after I watched both I decided "what the heck?!" and watched the concert itself. Thus I made another huge-ass post. Nothing new here.

The Concert

I knew like 2 of their songs so it was a very blank page for me. I didn't really know what to expect. Well, most songs were pretty average but nothing that sounded annoying. There were a few though that caught my attention. Yukidaruma is pretty good. Also that really jazzy song, Wasuremono. Sakura Girl sounded pretty good compared to the original version. Highway was fucking badass and I love the dancing.

I absolutely loved the "city" song. I dunno who made up the lyrics but it was incredibly sweet to make a song for every town they played in. And the Yokohama song even got the proper arrangement.

MOAR

The thing that really impressed me was that they actually had a live band. And a really amazing one at that. Wasuremono sounded awesome. Tegoshi also played acoustic guitar. I'm not sure if that can even be called proper playing, he just strummed a bit but still. The stage was really cool too. I really liked the setup and all the special effects.

Tegoshi looked really fab and very hydish in both appearance and moves. Masuda was fucking hilarious. I mean, seriously. I could not watch the ballads. Just looking at him makes me laugh. I thought Nao was the funniest person on Earth but now I'm not sure. By the way, what's with the banana, Massu?

Yuuko also made an appearance in Yokohama. Actually, that was probably the most blatant fanservice. The two of them didn't really do much except for the final pose which is funny since Tegoshi gives Massu that pointed look "this is where you hug me and the fangirls scream".

It was sweet that the other two came to watch. Also at the end of the final concert Yuya cried. He looks pretty even when crying. I'm not ok with this.

The Documentary

I also watched the documentary to Tegomass no Mahou. I watched it just because I though it'd be a waste not to since I already had it but it turned out pretty interesting.

Above all it really changed my perception of Tegoshi. I thought he was a cute pampered kid, but I saw that when it comes to work he's really serious and hard-working. I was really impressed how mature he seemed. The boys were really nice to all of the staff and the band. It was really cute how Massu was going round giving out snacks to everyone. I was also surprised that the tour was mainly aimed at small cities. I mean I've never even heard of some. And it didn't end at Tokyo but at Nagoya I think.

Tegoshi once said he has no sense of style. You fucking liar. He's, like, one of the most stylish artists I've see. Backstage that is. He totally ripped Hyde's style but it actually looks better on him. I also loved his white stage outfit. It was dazzling.

I think Tegomass is a good unit. You can tell there a big gap in their vocal abilities. Massu looks like he's in pain when he sings, he's putting his all while Tegoshi barely sweats. The bastard also can hit all the high notes with ease. I'd love to see him do songs that challenge his skills and show his true potential. But apparently he prefers team sports.




All in all I really enjoyed the concert. 2 more to check out.

I kind of accepted my fallout with the A9 fandom. I mean of course NEWS is not a proper replacement but for now they keep me entertained and that's enough. In the end within 2,5 years I exhausted like 98% of all A9 resources.

What does bother me, however is that I'd lost my best OTP and with it my writing. I really got into it in the past year and my new story was well on its way. Now It's stuck there with all of my other A9 and JYJ drafts, waiting, hoping its time will still come one day.

NEWS - PVs

I decided I should at least see some of the their PVs - and inevitably ended up watching all of them.

This screen - it looks like it was born in my diary!

First of all I have to say I can see why the Japanese lose to the Korean. No, I don't mean looks or vocals. I mean that out of 14 songs PVs only one got stuck in my head. Which is of course Chankapana. Well, maybe Weeeek too. Also I have to say it's funny how the only other song I like is Tayou no Namida which O had from way back. Other than that it seems like all the actually good stuff went to KAT-TUN. Too bad.

Afterthoughts:

I'm surprised that NEWS have so few videos. I mean I know they had some hiatus and stuff but in 10 years?

Despite the music after having looked at NEWS I decided that at any rate they are now my favourite Johnnies.

I didn't feel particularly sad seeing the member count decrease. Somehow.

I love Chankapana, ok? It's brilliant. Best comeback song ever. The moves are a very Korean thing but good use! The original PV has too much weird girl so I prefer the live version. Plus Tegoshi's cry sounds awesome.

I was rather surprised at the live version of Full Swing though. I mean I'm used to seeing guys cry but I've never seen a band cry so much. All 4 of them. Shige was weeping by the time they began. I know it's very touching and stuff but it still seems strange to release it as a PV.

Lately I kinda been listening to Gackt quite a bit and when I listen carefully I can understand most of the lyrics and it's just... so magical, you know. I feel like these 5 years were put to good use.

You know, I can't really remember the last time I felt truly impressed. Excited, yes. Intrigued, easily. But not astounded. Like, woah. But now I am. In these 8 years I've seen a lot of Japanese and Korean guys who were pretty damn amazing. Hell, Gackt alone is quite a specimen. But this guy really impressed me. I didn't expect much from an idol. Good looks, good singing and acting skills is already more than I could have imagined. But it wasn't about that.

I currently have more than 10 GB of Variety featuring Yuya. But one show that really left a great impact is ItteQ. The show in itself is pretty damn amazing. But I think it wouldn't be the same without this guy.

I think when you're a celebrity and very much loved it's easy to get lazy. It's very important for a man especially to keep challenging oneself. I only watched a number of shows but even the things I've seen so far have been fucking amazing. I was like " Are you kidding me? This guy can do anything!" Sure he's naturally good at many things but the coolest parts is when he takes on something he's terrible at. Like art. He just won't give up. At all. Like, you know how people try and try but it just doesn't work out and they go like "I tried and I just can't." Well, when you look at him you realize that this is all bullshit.

At first I thought he's related to Hyde but looking at his unbelievable willpower and determination he seems to be a relative of Gackt's. (Mum said he's their lovechild and I was like o_O)

Anyway, it seems like a lot of fans dislike Tegoshi because he likes to show off and he can be a bit of a brat but I think anyone who says that is just blinded by his light. I give up, boy. You got me.

Tegoshi once said he'd like his name to be featured in a dictionary as an example for the word Entertainer. Well, I think it should be featured as an example for 'Life Ruiner' instead. He earned his own tag at any rate coz surely there's more posts to come.

I didn't write here in 5 days. That's unusual. Guess I got pretty swept in new work and TY. I won't get paid in a long long time but at least I have a little sense of direction now. At first I was kinda upset at the show I got but then I decided I should try and learn form what comes my way. I believe any kind of experience is enlightening and can help you to change your perspective. I've already learned a few things but I guess I'll write a post once we'll finish the season.

So I just watched the Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac and it's a decent film and I could relate to it at some point but the main thing that bothered me through all 2 hours of it was: suppose Naomi forgot everyone but how the fuck did she manage not fall head over heels for Mirai within 5 seconds since he walked in? God, i'm so screwed.

So the Halloween concert was successful and the costumes were really awesome but somehow I got really pissed off. A little bit because Tora and Shou did not have couple outfits and there weren't any mentions of fanservice but mostly because of all these reports. Like it feels half of all these annoying people went. I bet there's gonna be a v-log too. Ah, I'm terrible lately. Bitter and mean. But either way another event I was looking forward to turned sour. I wonder if this is it.

Tegoshi Yuya

Just recently the only thing I had of NEWS was the Tayou no Namida PV, the movie version. That and Yama Pi's naked pictures. In other words, I have never really noticed the bundle of kawaii that is Tegoshi Yuya.



Looking at him makes me torn between "Aww~ Look at you!" and "fuck you and your face!"

I'd say that I came to this point because of YamaNade but that'd be a lie because in reality I watched YamaNade because of Yuya. Actually, because of Yuuko. But we shall talk about her later. For now let's start with a basic profile.

Apparently he also has the best voice in the band. Win/win. I wouldn't say he has very impressive skills but he's pretty good. I kinda fell for Ai Nante. But the PV made me laugh. I mean a lot of it is just Yuya looking at himself in the mirror. It's like a tale of impossible love. For oneself. But all of this was not enough of a reason to bring me to this point of entering a NEWS comm and downloading NEWS DVD specials.

The real reason is Yuuko, Yuya's female alter ego. Tegoshi crossdresses like it's the most natural thing to do. Yuuko is not only pretty but also very feminine, more so than a lot of girls. He seems to genuinely enjoy it. He also loves pink and cute stuff.



But it's not like he's completely girly. He loves football and is very competitive. I guess I like people with many shades and contradictions. Especially what Native Indians called Two-Spirit people.

I did my homework and was fascinated to find out that Yuya is the only child and his mother really wanted a girl. Desperately so it seems since she made him grow his hair and dressed him up in girly clothes. Pretty much like Hyde. Well, I bet now his mother is really happy.



He loves L'Arc~en~Ciel, by the way. And skulls. It took me awhile to realize the link. At first I thought Yuya looked a bit like Hyde. But it's not his face, it's his laugh and his mannerisms. Then I carried out an investigation and found out that not only these two know each other but they are in fact good friends. Hyde even mentioned Tegoshi in his autobiography in the Pals chapter. If you come to think about it his personality also reminds me of Hyde's. Unlike his character in YamaNade Tegoshi is a spoiled brat. But, you know, in an innocent sort of way. Like Hyde. You can't hate him at all. He's lovable and teasing and very confident in his abilities. Adorable little brat. I bet Hyde liked him because he could recognize his own younger self. Their voices sound kinda similar too. I also noticed that Tegoshi has adopted a very distinctive Hyde-ish fashion style, maybe even better then that of Hyde)



I also watched this extra DVD footage, Life of news. Mostly because of Yuuko but I genuinely enjoyed it. This is all kinda funny since after all this I still haven't heard two songs of them. I wouldn't mind though but they're 10 years and I have no idea where to start.

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge

I've heard about the drama years ago but I wasn't really interested. Well, not that I am now. For one I just needed something easy to watch. And for two... the reason shall be explained later.

Basically, the drama was average. The plot is pretty damn absurd and the whole horror girl thing was pretty annoying. I absolutely hate horror films and everything creepy and those tacky skulls belong in Hyde's closet. Some episodes were pretty funny and some plain lame. The ending was just boring.

Aya did a pretty good job though. As for Kame I used to kinda like him but now I have very mixed feelings towards him. He's a pretty good actor but I don't like his attitude. Rather than Kame Kyouhei really pisses me off. His problem is a lot more stupid than Sunako's and yet he acts like a real asshole most of the time. Besides this whole "you shouldn't have been born with that face" made me laugh so hard I couldn't translate. Kame's not even that handsome in the first place. The rest of the cast is good though. Especially Tegoshi, of course. He's too adorable for words.

Basically if I were to give one reason for watching this drama it would be this:



In fact 3 out of 10 episodes had cross-dressing scenes in them.

I also went an extra mile for this drama and watched a whole bunch of variety shows with the cast. I quite like those things. I might have enjoyed them more that the drama itself.

But it's pretty funny though. I remember when I first got into TVXQ some 6,5 years ago it was like: "Woo! Fanservice galore!" But now you realize that in K-pop TVXQ has always been a band with dignity so to say. I mean they never really done any cross-dressing (Vacation hardly counts) and their fanservice in general has always been very tame. Compared to that SuJu are really slutty. I don't think there's even such a thing as OTP in JuSu - they're like one big orgy.

Also I realized that Sungmin is pretty much the Kim Junsu of Super Junior. Except unlike Junsu he doesn't seem to be even slightly embarrassed about it. He's proudly flouting his assets on any occasion.

The hurt has subsided but now I feel so numb. Can't really get excited about anything. I play games a lot and get pretty clinical about my cross-dressing blog but I feel like my heart's not really in it.

Playing King's Bounty. Last time I did was probably some 10 years ago? It's a lot like Heroes but a bit RPGish and it's good not having to worry about every step that you take. I'm glad I took it Easy because it doesn't seem that easy to me. Level 21 Paladin.

Как-то ненароком меня затянуло обратно в ДБСК фандом. Нет, я не хочу туда. Вспоминая первые 2 года... столько радости я не получала от всех моих групп вместе взятых. Но этого больше никогда не будет. Я надеялась, что пройдет время и люди успокоятся, но черта с два. По-прежнему куча грязи и разборки по любым мелочам. Мне уже давно плевать кто прав и кто виноват. Никто никогда не узнает всей правды. Я просто хочу получать радость от фандома, а не спорить с пеной у рта чей оппа лучше. Я так устала...
