A Letter from Hyde

I don't expect anyone to read this, i do it for myself. But it really says a lot about him. As a person. So...



Letter from Hyde - 2002.04.11 About rockin'on interview



So, in general, in everyday life, if asked about my age I don't hide it.



In interview or to magazines, it got said but couldn't be left. Usually, I generally answer, it's like going with the flow, "I got asked so I said it".

It really was like a normal coversation "How old are you?". When I looked because the tape was recording, for a moment I was puzzled, then I said it. All of a sudden I looked around to the record company people, to the office people, "mah, people who check are listening". Immediately after the ending of the interview "About what he's just said, what we do?".

Honestly, I said "What about it? Why it couldn't be left up till now?" Once again that was something that made me wonder about myself.



When I first started with music, the artist I liked was Gastunk.. For me they were a "riddle". I didn't think about what they did or not in normal life, at that time I didn't even know if they were human, they just about existed. And that attracted me....

....of course there were other aspects that charmed me, but in any case that "riddle" I got charmed by, was in me.

The desire I had toward music at puberty time, that impulse, I felt like it was progressively getting thinner with age. So I guess I wanted to protect it. "Then I won't say too much to people about that part of me (bio and private)", I came to reason that to protect it.



Well, this state of things went on till today, but this time it was OK.....how can I say, my bio, my musicianship, they were like a shell I created by myself; it was like because I only existed inside this shell "I can't evolve/progress" further. So I decided to gradually break the shell.



I guess is a bit of a "fixation" for me. What was me has progressed by gradually breaking it. But, that single part, was never said.

Following this flow, thre was that interview. Honestly I thought, "will they stop me?"

But, I have bad habits. Like that habit of wondering "Will it be fine?" (smile) Besides, even if I don't get to say it myself, the internet is full of it. Like where's my home place, of course my real name, how many already know it? Mah, among them, there are certainly both right and wrong things.

(note: he means his parents home in Wakayama, there was a magazine in the past that made a map of Wakayama showing spots where supposedely Hyde tended to go. Hyde knew about it and he said that apart being very annoyed about it, most of it wasn't true) In all that I thought "It's strange that I'm being the only one shutting up"

So, this time around, because I was asked I said it.....

"Ops"



When you admire an artist, and you don't know about that artist, there's a large part of you that is happy about not knowing. For example, if I could have known I might have come to dislike Gastunk, because part of the reason I liked them was that misterious side. So I wanted to imitate them. Because I tend to imitate people that I really admire and I'm really attracted to.

When I think some people are interesting, a part of me desire to know about them. A part.



Wanting to know, not wanting to know, it goes both way. It's a contradiction.

Maybe people are creature acctracted by ambiguity.

Kagen no Tsuki

Я мангой особо никогда не интересовалась, но это особый случай. Это один из моих любимых фильмов и хотелось изучить Канон, так сказать. Все никак руки не доходили. И вот... 3 тома, 16 глав... несколько часов.. отчего это мне казалось, что манга читается очень быстро?



Отличия оказались довольно значительными. Вместо двух детишек -4, вместо медальона -кольцо...

и Adam... голубоглазый и блондинистый... 20-тилетний англичанин. Наркоман. И умер он, судя по всему, от передоза. Mizuki была 17-тилетней японкой, что, впрочем, не мешало ей тоже быть блондинкой.







В общем, по-моему, Ai Yazawa, конечно, хороша, но Ken Nikai гениален. Он взял эту основу, отполировал и создал нечто новое, затрагивающее душу и будоражащее кровь и я уже не вижу эту историю иначе..
